OK, so it all sounds interesting if not enticing but I need more input.... What are the transport options and how much $$. What time is the start on the 23rd and when on the 25th are you done? Gotta map? Are there other amenities like rest rooms and bars or a conveniently cheap sleazy motel? I escaped from da Valley long ago and never been to Catalina so IB curious and suspicious and I really don't want to finish the rest of my sentence. Is this Catalina place anything like Devils Island?
Okay, some campout info:
Catalina is an island 26 miles off of Los Angeles. There are two towns there. We will be in Two Harbors, which is a very small place. One restaurant, two bars, one dive shop, one bread and breakfast with 13 rooms (booked up by non-hashers long ago), one general store, and one campground.
Boats are the only way to get there. Ferries leave from San Pedro and Marina del Rey. Go to www.catalina.com for ferry and other general info.
First run is 6:30 Friday. 2nd run 2:00 PM Saturday. 3rd run 10:00 AM Sunday. Only other scheduled event is Saturday night's catered dinner. Some people go SCUBA diving Saturday morning, and if someone wants to arrange it (contact me or Cream Puff if you do) there will be a SCUBA hash Saturday AM.
Accomodation choices are only the campsite or someone's private boat. Usually a fair number of hashers bring their own boats over and sleep aboard.
Cost for the weekend is $69.69 including beer, Saturday dinner, t-shirt and other giveaways, and munchies. You are own your own to get there and for food the other times.
Two Harbors Services does provide transportation for your gear from the ferry to the campsite. You have to walk yourself, but it's only a quarter mile or so.
Last I heard Responsive Asshole has the Big Green Weenie as she was last year's recipient. PS the Bloggings will continue until morale improves! BUG!

The last time I saw the big green weenie,the hasher that is, he was working in Target store. In the sports dept. IN the beach tent.
